Old Time Gang - 1920 and 30's Jazz

Main

The « OLD TIME GANG » started as a family orchestra, and has played old Jazz for more than 25 years. The repertoire is based on the music composed and recorded by small and medium sized groups in the 1920's and 1930's : The New Orleans Rhythm Kings, The Memphis Five, The Goofus Five, The Red Heads, The California Ramblers etc. are examples of less well known names.

In its basic formation, the "OLD TIME GANG" is a quintet directed by the clarinettist and saxophonist Thomas Winteler, with the arranger Hans-Rudolf Winteler playing cornet and violin and Henning Deluz at the trombone and the flute. Two ladies, singers and instrumentalists are both part of the original group : Lucienne Winteler at the piano and flute and Sylvie Enderli-Winteler who plays the banjo.
For important events, other musicians complete the orchestra, for instance Daniel Gindrat with his sax tenor, Marc Vittoz with his guitar or Jean-Yves Petiot with his string-bass. Recently the third family generation has also joined the orchestra.
The "OLD TIME GANG" appears regularly at public and private events (company evenings, weddings and family parties) and has been selected several times for the International Jazz Contests in France, reaching a place in the half-final and finals.
